Understanding Tire Size

Tire size varies greatly and is designated by three or more key dimensions including the tire's height and width (cross section only exclusive of the wheel), and the diameter of the wheel on which it would fit. Tire size can be indicated using one of two systems. The tire size is always found on the sidewall. There are two basic systems, alpha-numeric and P-metric.
